The Match Move Artist is responsible for recreating the sets, objects and camera motion of a shot in a 3D software environment to match the live-action background plate images.

What you will do...

  • Create sets, props and other models based on blueprints, photographs and measurements.
  • Set up the camera from camera data sheets, and track camera motion to match background plates.
  • Animate props and puppets to match the action in the plates.
  • Produce renders of the match move over the plates to check registration.
  • Participate as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions.
  • Participate in dailies and other meetings as required by production and management.
  • Initiate dialogue and assumes responsibility for assigned work.
  • Consistently meet production, management and match move team goals and deadlines in an expedient and efficient manner.

Must have:

  • Proficient in Maya, or other high-end 3D animation software packages is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take direction professionally.
  • Ability to approach work with critical thought, analytical skills and solution-based focus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in commercial match move software such as 3D Equalizer, PFTrack, Nuke X, Boujou, SynthEyes is desired.
  • Visual effects experience in feature films or related media is desired.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system and general scripting literacy desired.
  • Experience with detailed model building, architecture or related fields a plus. ��� Experience in traditional photography, film or video production a plus.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada.
