This role will put you at the centre of the Treasury’s communications team as we find innovative ways to explain our work. We are looking for a confident, talented Videographer to help us reach new audiences and make sure our policies and messages are seen and clearly understood. We’re constantly trying to improve the content we put out and experiment with new formats, styles and channels.
The ideal candidate will want to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, and will have experience in creating high quality video and animated content for digital audiences. They will have a creative eye, be a skilled editor, and be comfortable shooting by themselves or as part of a team.
We are looking for someone who is innovative, full of creative ideas about how to make use of the latest tech and who can build strong relationships and project-manage digital projects from initial brief through to delivery.
Whilst the role can be based in either our London or Darlington office, there is a requirement for travel in the role which will predominantly be centred around London, so any Darlington based applicants should be prepared for frequent travel to London.
We are looking for someone who possesses creative flair, a keen eye for composition and the skill to translate that to screen-based media. You will have an ability in and passion for photography, video and moving image – from scripting, storyboarding, producing, camera work and editing and audio-mixing. An understanding of design principles, including conceptualisation, layout, composition and typography, is preferred. You will use both Mac and PC platforms in the role, so some knowledge of both is preferable. Good knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite products, including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, is essential. Ideally you will also have experience of using Acrobat, InDesign and Illustrator. You will create content for all of the HM Treasury social channels so professional experience in creating and delivering successful content across these platforms is essential.
We are looking for someone who understands how digital channels can be used as part of successful communications delivery. Ideally, you will have an interest in emerging design and digital content trends and technologies. The ability to learn fast and enthusiasm to quickly build upon existing skills is also desirable.
You will have strong relationship-building skills, be comfortable dealing with ministers and people at all levels of the organisation, and feel confident about offering communications advice and guidance. The ability to respond quickly, flexibly, creatively and to use initiative, whilst working calmly under pressure, is also desirable
